Farmingdale State College Accounts Payable Assistant in Farmingdale, New York

Farmingdale State College seeks a self-motivated and team-oriented individual to join our Procurement Office as an Accounts Payable Assistant, reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager. The selected individual should be able to communicate between departments and vendors in a timely fashion and become familiar with the New York State procurement guidelines and finance law. The successful candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task. In this position, the candidate will perform a variety of accounts payable duties including but not limited to:

  • Processing payments for all purchase orders, requisitions, and travel reimbursements, ensuring compliance with NYS and SUNY rules and regulations.

  • Ensuring that voucher, contract, and travel files are complete and accurate.

  • Processing refunds of appropriations as needed.

  • Assisting the campus community to expedite and resolve Accounts Payable and Travel issues.

  • Handling data, generating reports and performing other administrative tasks.

  • Must be able to foster effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and vendors.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Strong demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office Excel and Word.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Accounts Payable.

  • Experience in higher education, preferably in a SUNY school.

  • Experience in the administration of a travel program.

  • Proven ability to operate independently and/or under minimal supervision.

  • Graduate of Farmingdale State College.

    Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Wednesday, July 10, 2024, and ending Tuesday, July 23, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Thursday, August 8, 2024.

  • SALARY: $50,000 + $3,400 in downstate location pay = $53,400 Total Compensation.
