Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Summary of duties: Confers with management and quality staff to determine training objectives. Coordinates and standardizes braze certification requirements across all Daikin sites, as deemed practical. Develops training programs, including writing outlines, handouts, and tests, and designing hands-on exercises. Schedules classes based on certification requirements, and classroom and student availability. Works collaboratively with the local management team to coordinate training. Responsible for maintaining inventory of parts and materials needed for dojo. Provides classroom and hands-on braze training to new and transfer employees. Lectures class on safety, quality, HVAC and brazing equipment, and procedures following outline, and handouts. Identifies and develops dojo trainers to assist with hands-on training. Oversees hands-on-training. May personally demonstrate procedures being taught. Observes trainees in dojo, provides coaching and answers trainees' questions. Administers written and practical exams and evaluates trainees' performance. Provides appropriate feedback. Awards brazing certifications as appropriate. Works with location management regarding trainees who have not successfully obtained their certifications. Provides remedial training as appropriate. Provides recertification testing and training as required for current brazers. Ensures that training records and files are maintained appropriately. Conducts annual training file audits. Provides feedback to location management and ensures that corrective actions are taken if needed. Conducts regular audits of braze conditions and practices on shop floor to ensure that training has transferred from the classroom to the floor and that employees are using appropriate techniques and sustaining newly learned skills. Provides feedback on audits to employees and reports to management team regarding audit results. Provides direction and assistance to sites establishing brazing dojos. Evaluates effectiveness of site training, and audits programs. Mentors and coaches site braze trainers. Leads and directs the National brazing skills competition. Serves in the capacity of coach for the winner/s of the National brazing skill competition, traveling to the Daikin Skills Olympic Competition with the winner/s. Ensures that 5S principles are followed in the dojo training area, serving as a model for the rest of the plant. Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to training facility and integrates information into training program. Assists with Kaizen teams and special projects to reduce braze related defects as direct by manager. Requirements: 1+ year of brazing experience required. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
