Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for effective personnel management to maximize production output and deliver products to customer expectations. 95% tactical activities (moment to 2 weeks) / 5% strategic (2 weeks – 2 years)

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Ensure team focuses on Safety

  • Champion employee involvement/engagement to motivate the collective team.

  • Direct team personnel assignments to ensure the accomplishment of daily production metrics.

  • Instruct, train, orient, motivate and otherwise assist employees so that Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity goals are achieved.

  • Identify and cultivate leaders within lines and teams.

  • Participate in the selection/interview process to fill open positions and appraise employee performance.

  • Keep employees informed of the company rules and regulations, and performance expectations.

  • Handle personnel administration including approving time off and policy enforcement.

  • Understand area processes & key components that drive efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Identify labor issues and production problems, make recommendations, and assist management in developing a corrective action plan.

  • Engage and direct daily production operations and anticipate production problems, (i.e. - material shortages, equipment malfunctions, rush orders, etc.) such that production & quality objectives are achieved.

  • Serve as a leader of the area’s daily production plan and be the primary go-to person for day-to-day priorities (SO, MRD & Projects).

  • Keep parts and processes flowing smoothly.

  • Utilize team skills, work hours, materials, and workflow to achieve production and quality objectives, exchange timely information with other supervisors on interdepartmental product flow and workforce needs.

  • Collaborate and mentor peers to ensure consistency in operating methods.

  • Adjust quickly to changes in parts and people availability and promote the same adaptability in the team.

Skills & Abilities

Personnel Management and Leadership

Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Dayforce, KBM, Vault, MS Office

Ability to persuade individuals and team to accomplish small and large goals

Mechanical aptitude to understand technical product and processes

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Compensation Information:

Pay Range $23.50 - $31.90 per hour
