Job Description:

Our work depends on a Tableau Server Administrative joining our team to support our customer activities in Washington, DC. This position can be worked Remote.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Tableau Administrator, you will be responsible for Tableau Server Administrative functions, upgrades, installations, configuration, license management, backup of servers and load balancing techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of Tableau Architecture and Administration ensuring high performance, security and usability.

  • Installation, configuration, upgrade and process performance tuning of Tableau Server.

  • Platform monitoring, availability and performance management, and service reporting (KPI)

  • Perform maintenance activities like logs Cleanup and Archiving Log files in prescribed intervals, used for Business continuity during a Disaster

  • Analyze performance and server health, monitoring through metrics and logs.

  • Provide 24/7 operational support for all production related issues, troubleshooting and system maintenance

  • Formulate procedures and documentation for installation and configuration of Tableau desktop and administration

  • Understanding of data warehousing concept and ETL processes.

  • Work with SQL queries and various other forms of database object to facilitate data for reporting and analysis.

  • Experience implementing Role Level Security to control and maintain access to Tableau content.

  • Work closely with Tableau vendor for product related fixes and enhancements.

  • Develop and document standards/best practices for administration of the Tableau platform

  • Manage users and groups including permissions and role adhering to the licensing limits

  • Effectively support system service and change requests with Government Tech Support

  • Implement security protocols to protect data, conduct performance tuning and load testing.

  • Integrate Tableau with other enterprise system, automate tasks using scripting (python) or tools (tabcmd, tabadmin), use tableau APIs for custom integration and extensions.

  • Provide technical support to tableau users, aligning with business objectives and requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or similar discipline.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Tableau administration experience

  • Good experience on SQL queries is preferred

  • Experience preferred with cloud services like AWS.

  • Ability to task switch effectively based on business priorities

  • Strong organizational skills along with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Communicate (verbal and written) effectively with technical/non-technical audiences

  • Self-motivated and driven

  • Can-do attitude: contributing to key improvements and innovations

  • Experience with Jira & Confluence

  • US Citizen required

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
