Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer for Hosting, Operations and Maintenance (HOM) services for the Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) contract. You will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and documenting network solutions. You will work with a team of engineers on projects to maintain, modify, and redesign complex network architectures in an unclassified environment.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provide expert support, analysis, research, and advice into exceptionally complex problems and processes relating to the subject matter.

  • Serve as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives.

  • Responsible for the development, configuration, and maintenance of the HIGLAS Network.

  • Hands-on Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and the ability to troubleshoot any ACI issues that come up following deployment by the Engineering team.

  • Experience creating different application policies in the ACI including Tenants, Application Network Profile (ANP), End Point Group (EPG), Contracts, Subjects and Filters.

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS.

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain switching protocols such as Cisco vPC, Spanning-Tree, Nexus VDCs.

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain LAN / WAN topologies and point-to-point private lines.

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain dual-stack IPv6 protocol as well as IPv6-only single-stack.

  • Conduct testing of network systems.

  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, load balancers, etc.

  • Must be able to work independently Day to Day

  • Monitor ServiceNow for Network Operations trouble tickets for incidents and service requests.

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain highly available networks using F5 Local Traffic Management (LTM) and DNS technologies.

  • Support Secure Socket Layer / Transport Layer Security (SSL/TSL) offloading and brokering PKI authentication provided by the F5 load balancer.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 10+ years related experience

  • Experience supporting and maintaining F5 Big-IP load balancers to include set-up, maintenance, upgrades, and replacement of the latest generation of F5s.

  • Experience with F5 Big-IP LTM, DNS and ASM modules in a large, shared environment.

  • Knowledge of packet capture and analysis via TCPdump and Wireshark.

  • Experience with Gigamon packet broker fabric.

  • Experience with enterprise network security stack (firewall, Intrusion Detection and -Prevention (IDPs), log management/reporting solutions)

  • Practical Experience with Cisco Firepower, and Palo Alto Firewalls

  • Experience with Splunk or comparable logging system for troubleshooting.

CLEARANCE:

Ability to pass a CMS background check and meet the residency requirement of having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years in order to obtain a Public Trust.

The likely salary range for this position is $122,366 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
