The Security Specialist I is responsible for supporting and administering security programs and procedures to protect classified and proprietary information, materials, and equipment. This role ensures compliance with federal security regulations and company policies while promoting a culture of security awareness. The Security Specialist I will assist in document control, access management, and incident investigations, playing a vital role in maintaining a secure operational environment.
The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and missions. What You ll Do:
Develop, implement, and maintain security programs and procedures in accordance with federal regulations and company policies.
Ensure compliance with applicable security requirements for handling, storing, and transmitting classified and proprietary materials.
Prepare and maintain security manuals, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Administer personnel security processes, including security clearance applications, renewals, and visitor access requests.
Conduct security briefings and training sessions to reinforce compliance and awareness.
Investigate security violations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain records related to classified information access, storage, and destruction in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure security policies align with operational needs.
Support audits and inspections to verify adherence to security standards.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor s degree.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Familiarity with federal security regulations, such as NISPOM, DCSA requirements, and other applicable policies.
Solid attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and security-related software.
A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience in an industrial security or government contracting environment.
Active or previously held security clearance.
Knowledge of classified document control and access management systems.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $50268 - $85455
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
