Department Summary:

The Globally Contested Logistics and Supply Chain department (N154) within the Operations in Contested Environment Division (N150), aims to holistically address Logistics and Supply Chain challenges that face our nation, with a focus on the Department of Defense. We accomplish our mission by preparing for and sustaining power projection while our logistics is deliberately threatened.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Apply foundational and cross-discipline engineering principles to understand, design, develop, advocate, deploy, and sustain systems and sub-systems that support the defense enterprise.

  • Evaluates new technologies for application in improving design of aerospace systems.

  • Performs risk assessment of aerospace systems and generates risk mitigation plans and strategies

  • Translates user needs from the defense enterprise into requirements, leveraging knowledge of the defense domain and technology state of the practice.

  • Evaluates alternatives to derive and develop architectures, plans, and designs by using analytic techniques and guiding and integrating disciplines across the range of defense mission areas.

  • Designs, develops and evaluates human/computer interaction as it relates to the defense enterprise, its users, and its systems.

  • Analyzes and recommends interoperability interfaces across defense systems/domains such as air, sea, ground, cyber, and space forces.

  • Analyzes aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance

  • At least 2 years of applicable experience

  • Passion for using software to solve challenging real-world problems

  • Demonstrated proficiency using programming languages (such as Python, C/C++, Java), experience with commonly used analytic tools (such as SAS, MATLAB, R), and database languages (such as SQL)

  • 1+ years of experience with independent work using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software and modeling and simulation methods

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference given to qualified candidates with an active DoD Secret clearance

  • Demonstrated ability to develop software applications, user interfaces, databases and embedded software.

  • Previous experience working with the DoD
