Aircom Avionics Inc Avionics Technician in Fairbanks, Alaska

We are looking for a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation, inspection, testing, and repair of avionics systems in aircraft. This role requires an understanding of aircraft practices as required in AC 43.13, avionics systems, navigation, communication, and flight control systems. The Technician will work closely with technical support and other Technicians to ensure that all avionics systems are functioning correctly and meet all regulatory requirements. This position demands a high level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that all work is documented accurately. Additionally, the Technician will be expected to stay up to date with the latest advancements in avionics technology and continuously improve their skills through ongoing training and professional development. Responsibilities

  • Develop, install and test avionics system suites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on avionics systems.
  • Collaborate with team members and technical support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform software updates and modifications.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Assist in the development of new avionics systems and suites.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Certification from an accredited avionics technician program, Part 65 certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in avionics maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with avionics software.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • G-1000 experience, preferred.
  • General Aviation and light commercial aircraft experience, preferred.
  • Pilots license, preferred.
