Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Exmore, Virginia

Description

An Established manufacturing organization is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join its team on the Eastern Shore. This role involves overseeing HR functions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations, managing employee relations, and overseeing hiring processes.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring HR policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with legal requirements and government regulations

• Maintaining records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions, and employee statistics

• Administering, preparing, and transmitting all employee hours and deductions for timely processing of weekly payroll

• Coordinating management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment

• Responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs

• Administering benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, employee assistance, and FMLA

• Investigating accidents and preparing reports for insurance carriers

• Conducting wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rate

• Preparing budget for human resources operations

• Representing the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations

• Coordinating all company employee functions such as awards ceremonies, communication sessions, and celebrations.

Requirements • Proficient in managing Benefit Functions within the organization

• Experience in Compensation Administration, ensuring fair and equitable remuneration for all employees

• Knowledge of Compliance within the HR field, including labor laws and industry regulations

• Strong background in Employee Relations, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization

• Familiarity with Hiring Processes, from job posting to onboarding

• Skilled in conducting Interviews, both in-person and through digital platforms

• Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration, ensuring employees' retirement benefits are properly managed

• Proven experience in fostering Employee Engagement, creating a positive and motivating work environment

• Prior experience in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry is preferred

• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is required

• Professional certification in Human Resources (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
