Seacoast Mental Health Center Part-time Referral Education Assistance & Prevention (REAP) Clinician in Exeter, New Hampshire

SMHC is looking for an energetic, dedicated, experienced individual to join our team as a Referral Education Assistance & Prevention Program (REAP) Clinician. As a REAP Clinician at SMHC, you will also connect with other REAP Staff across the state to bond over the shared commitment of assisting our aging population. REAP is a longstanding, best practice model. REAP clinicians should demonstrate a good understanding of human behavior, mental illness, psychiatric rehabilitation, treatment, recovery, family systems and the social, rehabilitation and health care systems. REAP clinicians work primarily with older adults, in their homes and community; informal and formal caregivers of older adults and professionals who work with older adults. Experience and expertise in all aspects of caring for an older adults is essential for this position. In addition, REAP clinicians are expected to be able to asses and respond to issues related to substance misuse as it presents in older adults; this includes misuse of prescription medications. The REAP Clinician is also required to provide workshops on a variety of topics pertinent to older adults and those who work the older adults. In addition, the position entails a variety of activities related to promoting the program such as attending and promoting the REAP program at Elder Wrap meetings, Senior housing site events, and Senior Expos. The REAP Clinician must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology/social work or equivalent with 1-2 years prior experience. Experience and education requirements may be waived, in certain instances, as defined in state rules.
