Description

We are offering a long-term contract opportunity for a Purchasing/Procurement Specialist in Lenexa, KS. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team in a bustling industry, handling the procurement of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, as well as managing supplier metrics and ensuring optimal delivery, cost, and capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage MRP messages, including buy, expedite, defer, and cancel actions for all associated parts.

• Collaborate with home site and engineering teams on DCR communication to assigned commodity or suppliers.

• Monitor and ensure supplier metrics are established and consistently met.

• Update BSP for assigned suppliers and parts and work with home site and suppliers to achieve 100% BSP usage.

• Handle procurement of materials, parts, supplies, equipment, and build-to-print items, adhering to established purchasing policies and procedures.

• Manage the performance of assigned suppliers, focusing on delivery, cost, and capacity/recovery to MRP health schedule.

• Review and issue purchase requisitions and expedite as necessary.

• Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials Receiving, Inspection, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Production Planning teams to coordinate purchase timing, quantities, pricing, and goods delivery/storage.

• Perform other related duties and projects as required.

Requirements • Proficient in customer service and communication

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Experience in training team members and leading operations

• Understanding of procedures and materials handling

• Knowledge of quality control principles in procurement

• Familiarity with finance principles and workstation support

• Experience with pricing strategies and leadership skills

• Background in production, procurement, and engineering

• Experience in metric reporting and optimization

• Ability to work with stakeholders and suppliers

• Understanding of buying processes and storage systems

• Advanced interpersonal skills

• Ability to develop and implement recovery strategies.
