Aston Carter PCBA Buyer in Everett, Washington

(Job Description)

Aerospace manufacturing company located in Everett, WA is currently looking to identify a Buyer II. The Buyer will coordinate with inventory management and use materials management & inventory control principles and techniques to maintain accurate inventory levels and to meet the needs of the business. The Buyer will also leverage world-class negotiation and sourcing strategies, tools, processes, and mitigate risk.

(Position Details)

Title – Buyer II

Pay – $72k/yr. - $90k/yr. (all depending on relevant qualifications, industry, and tenure)

Schedule – Rotating Shift with every other Friday off (Rotating 5x8's and 4x9's)

Location – Everett, WA (100% Onsite)

(Responsibilities)

  • The company uses metrics to define standards for productivity, quality, and cost. Incumbent is responsible for meeting all defined standards.

  • Responsible for mastery of Buyer I Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.

  • Evaluate supplier information and analyze quotes to successfully determine best total value.

  • Place purchase orders with suppliers accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Resolve blocked invoices as a result of pricing errors.

  • Deliver significant contributions to the achievement of Procurement Services and Supply Chain goals and initiatives as identified.

  • Demonstrate and promote ethical behavior in dealing with external and internal business situations.

  • Assist in providing buyer coverage as needed.

  • Coordinate with materials team, management and production areas as required.

  • Ensure shortage risks are effectively communicated to production and management.

  • Follow requirements for PPV and provide justification as necessary.

  • Formulate short and long term strategies to ensure quality and continuity of part supply.

  • Negotiate long term contracts – pricing agreements with suppliers.

  • Develop and maintain suppliers who share in the company's ideals of total quality, as well as continuous improvement on part and service quality, delivery performance and total cost.

  • Conduct Performance Readiness Assessments with Suppliers

  • Act as focal point for root cause / corrective actions assigned to suppliers.

  • Present a competent and composed demeanor, representing the company with professionalism to all stakeholders (including but not limited to applicants, employees, contractors, vendors, and customers) to successfully advance the interests of the company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

(Qualifications)

At this time, there will be no relocation package offered and local candidates near Everett, WA will be considered

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.

  • 2-5 years of industry related experience within Purchasing and Supply Chain (Supply Chain, Procurement, Contract Negotiations, Logistics, Materials Management, Inventory...etc.).

  • Demonstrated experience in purchasing contract manufactured parts / assemblies.

  • Experience purchasing Circuit Boards or Engineered Materials (highly preferred).

  • PCBA experience.

  • ERP proficiency.

  • Contract negotiation.

  • Demonstrated experience with Transfer of Work to a new source.

  • Experience in lean practices (highly preferred).

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) (highly preferred).

Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
