Job Description

As an Injection Molding Process Technician, you will be tasked with maintaining, fixing, and improving injection molding processes and be the first line of defense for internal part quality. You will need to understand Plastic Part Quality Standards and Injection Molding process variables to help meet Fluke Plastics' production schedule and On Time Delivery.

Responsibilities:

  * Responsible for Plastic Part Quality within the factory

  * Be able to identify molding/assembly defects and root cause

  * Address Injection Molding issues on machines ranging from 40Ton to 400Ton Presses, dialing in process parameters over lengths of time

  * Proactively seeks out Injection Molding Process Cycle Improvements

  * Validate Part Quality and First Article Approvals of startup processes

  * Verify molded parts meet engineering spec or part drawing

  * Ensure efficient manufacturing through achieving quality, cost, operating specifications, customer and company standards and requirements.

  * Apply Lean manufacturing principles to improve production processes and achieve cost reduction.

  * Ensure integrity of existing manufacturing documents and take ownership for creation of new manufacturing documentation.

  * Communication of quality and responsibilities to operators

  * Auditing of production lots for quality

  * No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members.

Skills and Requirements

• 2-4+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment with some injection molding plastics experience

    * Must be fast thinking, patient, and highly motivated

    * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings required

    * Microsoft Office/Excel Proficient

    * Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

    * Must build productive internal/external working relationships

    * Ability to handle high pressures, prioritize work and understand impact of duties

    * Strong communication, interpersonal skills

Experience with working in a cellular or Plastics manufacturing environment preferred null
