    Job Summary:

  • To evaluate and treats patients, infant to geriatric, with disabilities, disorders, and injuries, to relieve pain, develop or restore function and achieve maximum performance, including long and short term goals.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.

  • Generally, hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, however early start and finish times are also required due to patient scheduling.

    Education:

    Must be a graduate of/ or certified from a curriculum of physical therapy approved by the APTA accrediting body.

    Licenses/Certificates:

    Must be currently licensed to practice physical therapy by the SD State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners. This job position requires that you maintain a valid driver’s license, wear a seat belt and that you are insurable under Avera’s vehicle insurance policy. If you become uninsurable by the company Avera uses for automobile coverage because your driver’s license is revoked, suspended or restricted, receive moving violations, fail to use a seat belt or receive other infractions (e.g., a driving under the influence), you may no longer meet the essential functions of this job position and you may be terminated from employment. Additionally, it is recommended that employees carry sufficient automobile liability and physical damage insurance to adequately protect their financial and property interests.
