About this position:
Job Type: Full Time, On-Site.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, swing shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am
Wage Range: $20.40-$28.95 per hour, depending on experience, plus $1.25 shift differential.
Farwest’s Eugene location seeks a driven and knowledgeable individual to join their team as Equipment Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the press brake at maximum machine efficiency, generating highest part quality and performing general machine predictive maintenance based on safety and best practices in the steel service industry.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Efficient operation of numerically controlled Press Brake machine through challenging the capabilities of the machine and maximizing the utilization of the material consumed.
Confirm order requirements are met, including the proper selection of job priority, material, dies, machine setting, and program loading.
Enhance customer satisfaction by improving product quality through validation of machine positioning, program accuracy and inspection of the final product.
Perform regular predictive maintenance of the equipment to ensure maximum up-time.
Participate in ensuring a safe work environment through best practices including promoting of all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, maintenance of a 5S workstation.
Fill out necessary forms and paperwork, including routing sheets, production reports, etc.
Handle material with use of an overhead crane and forklift.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year or more Press Brake experience.
Prior fabrication experience such as:
Crane operation
Metal processing
Material handling equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with reading and interpreting blue prints.
Understanding of program editing, basic machine functions and adjustments, basic math, and dimensional knowledge.
Ability to read standard English and metric tapes, micrometers, fractions, and decimals.
Understanding of material flow, routing, and product staging areas.
Professional Competencies:
Strong organization skills and attention to detail; Ability to properly schedule work flow.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently requiring little direction, as well as actively participate in a team environment.
