Job Title: Drone Observer

Job Description

As a Drone Observer, you will be responsible for monitoring the airspace to ensure smooth flight operations. Your primary duties include observing the sky to ensure weather conditions, animals, or objects do not interfere with flights. You will provide feedback to operators and look for opportunities to improve processes, safety protocols, and operational efficiency across global operations centers.

Responsibilities

  • Observe the airspace to ensure safe flight operations.

  • Monitor weather conditions, animals, and objects that may interfere with flights.

  • Provide detailed feedback to operators and team members.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and safety protocols.

  • Perform administrative duties including data entry and inputting flight data into Excel.

  • Support customer service and administrative tasks.

  • Drone experience is a plus

  • Part 107 license not required but advantageous

Work Environment

You will work primarily outdoors, with 90% of your time spent in an outdoor environment. The position requires flexibility with shift times, primarily starting on the morning shift with potential movement to swing shifts as needed. The average workweek is around 50 hours, with some Saturdays required. You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative, and flexible team consisting of one manager and four team members. The projected duration of the contract is 6-9 months, with a high possibility of extension to a year.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Esparto, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
