Emerson E&I Designer (Contractor) in Escazú, Costa Rica

As part of the Electrical and Instrumentation Group, the E&I Designer is responsible for properly designing and developing electrical, mechanical and instrumentation drawings based on E&I Engineer / Customer given information and specifications, and in line with project strategy and Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Support the Electrical and Instrumentation Group on 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Design.

  • Design and develop layout drawings based on specifications or other information provided.

  • Support E&I Engineers on creation and modification of electrical one-line diagrams, wiring drawings, cable block diagrams.

  • Support E&I Engineers on creation and modification of piping and instrumentation diagrams, assembly drawings and cabinet drawings.

  • Support E&I Engineers on creation and modification of instrument loop diagrams and instrument location plans

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Technical Degree in Electromechanics or related field. Equivalent experience is also acceptable.

  • Working knowledge of low voltage and medium voltage principles.

  • Working knowledge of control panels design, including electrical calculations.

  • Working knowledge of industrial power and grounding principles is preferred.

  • Able to multi-task between projects and tasks.

  • Strong nimble learning skills: Actively learning through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder.

  • Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives (Collaborates).

  • Ability to hold self and others accountable to meet commitments (Ensures accountability).

  • Ability to anticipate and adopt innovations in technology applications (Tech savvy).

  • Action-oriented approach.

  • Able to multi-task between projects and tasks.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, with good attention to detail.

  • Good English reading skills.

  • AutoCAD 2D skills required.

  • Knowledge of 3D CAD tools is preferred
