Enterprise Technical Architect – Service Engineering

This is a full-time, exempt position.

The Technical Architect for Service Engineering will combine expertise in technology design and development across modern application, integration, data, and security architectures. This position is an architect and developer in the cross-functional Service Teams of ADM’s Cloud Center or Excellence, dedicated to building cloud services as automated tools to be used by our IT teams. This position requires experience in using front-end and back-end development technologies and frameworks. This is an important role in a strategic organization of a Fortune 50 company.

This is an Architect-level position within ADM’s Enterprise Architecture team. It requires communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with detail-level IT engineers, developers, and architects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead or the design and development of cloud native applications

  • Lead the definition of Front-end relatedtechnology’sroadmaps, standards, and reference architectures

  • Take accountability for solution requirement definitions, conceptual, and high- and low-level design artifact generation

  • Support ADM’s emerging Cloud CoE

  • Research, experiment, and prototype new cloud application services and drive their architecture design and build as IAC capabilities, their integration into Enterprise automation workflows and tools, and exposing them to self-service portals

  • Manage adherence to defined architecture standards throughout the Application development lifecycle

  • Provide subject matter expertise to design, develop, and implement complex architecture in alignment with Enterprise Architecture’s direction and standards

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and utilize this knowledge to educate both IT and the business on opportunities to build better target architectures that support and drive business decisions

  • Support IT Enterprise governance functions (RFI’s, vendor risk assessments, etc…)

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience

  • 5+ Years of building solutions using modern application design patterns including Single-Page Applications, microservices, and RESTful architectures

  • 3+ years of IT technical design experience overall (either exclusively or across applications, data, cloud infrastructure, networks, or security)

  • 2+ Years of Application development experience using Microsoft development platforms

  • 1+ Years of solution technical design involving Microsoft Azure, including both high-level solution design, and detailed technical design

  • Ability to generate conceptual and high level architecture design artifacts

  • Understanding of network architecture

  • Understanding of security architecture and identity management

  • Knowledge of Azure data platforms and services

  • Experience with Agile methodology: Scrum, DevOps, Continuous Development/Continuous Integration, and automated test tools

  • Experience developing cloud solutions using Azure services such as App Service, Active Directory, Azure Functions, API Management, Application Gateway, Logic Apps, and AKS

  • Experience with Front-End technologies such as Typescript, JavaScript, React, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, Storybook

  • Experience in software development using a variety of languages such as C#, Java, and Python

  • Experience with Containerization using Docker and orchestration platforms

  • Experience with Source Code Management tools such as Git, GitHub, SVN, Gitlab

  • Good knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps

  • Strong interpersonal collaboration skills and ability to work across technology domains

  • Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate both upward and down

  • Strong technical design skills
