Data Protection Architect - Erlanger, KY

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Architect with expertise in Microsoft Purview to join our organization.

The Data Protection Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing data protection strategies, policies, and procedures, with a focus on utilizing Microsoft’s comprehensive set of Purview solutions to achieve comprehensive data protection.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data protection strategies, including data classification, encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention, to safeguard sensitive data across the organization.

  • Leverage your expertise in Microsoft Purview to establish data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data cataloging processes to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.

  • Develop mitigation plans to address any identified gaps or weaknesses in data protection measures.

  • Work closely with stakeholders from various departments, including Cyber Defense, Security Engineering, IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to understand data protection requirements and develop effective solutions that meet organizational needs.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data protection best practices and provide guidance and training to internal teams, ensuring awareness and adherence to data protection policies and procedures.

  • Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to data protection and privacy to ensure our organization remains compliant and proactive in data protection measures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) working as a Data Protection Architect or in a similar role, with a focus on designing and implementing data protection solutions and processes.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Cyber Security.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Purview, including data loss and data governance capabilities. Any of the following certifications would be a plus: Microsoft Information Protection Administrator, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Fundamentals.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of data protection principles, industry standards, regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and industry best practices for data privacy and security.

  • Ability to analyze complex data protection requirements, identify risks, and develop effective solutions to mitigate those risks.

  • Experience with data protection technologies, such as encryption, access controls, data loss prevention, data classification.
