Western States Cutter - 2nd Shift in Erlanger, Kentucky

We are seeking motivated candidates for our Erlanger Kentucky facility, just minutes from Cincinnati OH.  A Cutter is the first step in the process of creating an envelope, and is responsible for setting up and operating cutting machinery equipped to cut paper into sheets. We offer comprehensive benefits including a 401k program with company match, opportunity to earn up to 2 weeks of vacation in your first year of employment, first raise at 30 days then opportunities for raises every 90 days until top rate is achieved, and 9 paid holidays. Check out our Western States Facebook page to see some of the fun things we do at Western States!SHIFT AVAILABLE2nd Shift:  Tues-Fri 4:30pm - 3:00am. Training takes place on 1st shift (6:00am - 4:30pm)Starting rate $17-19/hr based on previous relevant experience, top rate is $21.50 + .75 shift premium when working the 2nd shift hours.WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?Reads order jacket to determine specifications of order to be cut.Installs dies, knives and/or blades in a variety of cutting equipment.Programs and makes adjustments to a variety of cutting equipment.Sets up and runs all cutting equipment in manufacturing.Performs minor maintenance tasks on machinery.Completes paperwork at end of tasksSUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLSManual dexterityStrong initiativeTeam playerThe ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrior Manufacturing experience preferred.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ability to stand for approximate duration of scheduled shift (minus paid breaks), lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent, twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bend, reach, crouch, or stoop. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasoning, mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills for appropriate operations of the equipment.
