Amazon Business Analyst, Amazon Air Network Control Center , Amazon Air NCC Programs Team in Erlanger, Kentucky

The Amazon Air Network Control Center (AANCC) Program Management Team’s goal is to synthesize multiple data sources in order to develop tools that provide the AANCC with the ability to analyze past performance, make real time data driven decisions, and help predict future trends. Our scope is global and we have the ability to work on high impact projects, innovate with new AWS technologies, and deliver tools and analysis that impacts the entire Amazon Air Network. We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the Amazon Air Programs Team in order to help create business essential data visualization products for Amazon’s Global Air Network Control Center. As a Business Analyst within the Network Control Center, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable reporting platforms, defining and tracking reliable metrics, and building self-service analysis tools to support the rapidly growing demand for data, which will have an immediate influence in shaping the future of the entire Amazon Air Network.

This position requires an employee’s full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of Amazon AIR personnel, third-party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment. This position is therefore designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and, where permitted, post-hire drug testing.

Key job responsibilities

  • Display relevant experience in data analytics working with large data sets and to extract and transform data using various tools and technologies

  • Communicate insights using data visualization and presentations to stakeholders.

  • Work on new and ambiguous business problems which have not been solved yet and offer the chance to innovate and apply novel approaches to tackle these problems.

  • Stay current on best practice in analytics methodologies and trends. Developing basic scripts to process data to support business analysis, reporting, and optimization efforts

  • Generating complex queries and/or code to help dive deep into all aspects of Global Amazon Air Operations

About the team

We are a small collaborative team with a mix of Air Logistics SMEs, with backgrounds in Web development, Data Engineering, Business analysis and Program management skills. We look for big ideas that provide foundational data as well as projects that move the needle for Amazon Air as a global business. We actively partner with all teams within Amazon Air to develop scalable solutions to complex problems.

Erlanger, KY, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other technical field from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • 2+ years of experience with Excel including use of lookups and pivot tables

  • 2+ years of experience with Supply Chain Management concepts, e.g., forecasting, planning, optimization, and logistics

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA and work experience in a technical field is highly desired

  • 2+ years of experienced developing requirements and creating requirements documents and process flows

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Working knowledge of LEAN and SIX SIGMA methodologies and familiarity with Oracle business intelligence tools is a plus.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL, Perl, Unix/Linux, Visual Basic or other programming languages are a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently
