What do you contribute?

As Global Head of Sales & Bids (f/m/d), you will lead our acquisition team in the Highspeed & Intercity Trains business segment. You will represent our business interests with customers worldwide, with the aim of creating long-term partnerships and achieving lasting customer loyalty through products and services geared towards customer benefits. You will be responsible for pre-acquisition, bid preparation, bid and contract negotiations for high-speed trains in international business.

  • You will be responsible for the systematic and continuous processing/support of the market in order to identify, influence and generate customer requirements, leading to the successful conclusion of orders - up to volumes in the billions.

  • As part of pre-acquisition, you will support our customers with feasibility studies and project planning.

  • You will develop go/no-go and bid/no-bid decisions and prepare clear recommendations for action for the management (segment, business unit, managing board).

  • Moreover, you will conduct customer negotiations at various stages of contract initiation and help to draft contracts to avoid project risks.

  • You and your team will create competitive offers for high-speed trains worldwide, act as "offer manager" for defined objects and carry out all necessary process steps according to our project management process.

  • You will define requirements for our products and contribute to the further development of our product portfolio.

  • You will act as a representative of the high-speed business at trade fairs and conferences worldwide and actively promote our products and services.

What do you bring along?

  • You hold a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.

  • In addition, you have many years of international professional experience in project management and sales in rail technology, ideally in rolling stock.

  • You have in-depth market knowledge (customers, products, competitors) and ideally an extensive network in our industry.

  • A project management certification (A or B level), e.g. according to PMI or IPMA, is an advantage.

  • You are experienced in working with international teams and coordinating with internal and external partners at different hierarchical levels.

  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills in English. German language skills are an advantage.

  • For your role in an international environment, you will be willing to travel regularly on intercontinental business trips (approx. 25%).
