UPMC Physical Therapist (PT) in Erie, Pennsylvania

The Staff Physical Therapist reviews patient charts, performs initial assessments, develops treatment plans, administers physical therapy treatments and modalities, monitors progress and documents treatments performed with patients (including discharge planning and patient education) in order to increase overall functioning, reduce discomfort, increase or maintain flexibility and range of motion/strength, and achieve other medical and therapeutic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate patient status to referring physicians and healthcare team.

  • Serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and specialists.

  • Maintain professional licensure through continuous education and development.

  • Perform assessments, treatments, and supervise assistants for diverse patient groups.

  • Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on physician referrals and patient responses.

  • Rotate through various treatment areas to support organizational needs.

  • Participate actively in staff meetings and educational in-services.

  • Document all services provided, including assessments and discharge summaries.

  • Complete charge and statistical reports to reflect accurate service delivery.

  • Schedule patients efficiently to meet productivity standards and ensure quality care."

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

  • Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Physical Therapist (PT)
