UPMC Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Erie, Pennsylvania
Provides physical therapy treatment in accordance with the plan of care established by the physical therapist. Recommends changes in treatment plan to the supervising physical therapist based upon the patient's condition and response to treatment. Maintains work area in a neat, orderly fashion.
Responsibilities:
Actively participates in staff meetings, development, committees, and in-service education.
Supervises clinical support staff per the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
Completes charge/statistical information to reflect patient services accurately.
Provides comprehensive therapeutic interventions for all age groups within the scope of practice.
Assists physical therapists in patient surveys for all age groups.
Maintains detailed written/electronic documentation of clinical services.
Rotates through treatment areas/facilities as needed.
Provides objective feedback to supervisors on department performance and emergencies.
Schedules to maintain productivity standards set by the facility.
Implements treatment programs based on patient response and scientific knowledge, notifying physical therapists of necessary plan changes.

Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association with an associates degree as a physical therapist assistant.
Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Physical Therapist Assistant OR Physical Therapist Assistant Indirect Supervision
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
