POSITION: Housekeeping Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Sports Facilities

STATUS: Full-time/ Non-exempt

FACILITY: Erie Insurance Arena

HOURLY RANGE: $17.00-$22.00+ Comprehensive Benefits Package

POSITIONSUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall cleanliness of Erie Insurance Arena and grounds. He/she will direct, coordinate, and participate in the general cleaning of all front of house and back of house areas, restrooms and administrative offices. This position will supervise part-time housekeeping staff, promote a safe environment, and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Housekeeping Manager must possess a high school diploma.

  • He/she must have the ability to work safely and efficiently.

  • Must be 18 years and older

  • 1-2 years of custodial or housekeeping experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Supervisory experience required

  • He/she must be able to walk, climb, lift fifty pounds and have manual dexterity and motor coordination.

  • He / she must pass a background check.

  • He / she must possess a valid Driver's License.

HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER-JOB DESCRIPTION DETAIL

  • The Housekeeping Manager is a hands-on supervisory position, responsible for the cleanliness of Erie Insurance Arena. Which includes but not limited to: Buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and washing windows.

  • He / she will maintain housekeeping equipment such as brooms, mops, buckets, gloves, bags, vacuums, scrubbers and chemical dispensers.

  • Works with Operations Manager to create and modify as needed a monthly, weekly and daily cleaning schedule for Erie Insurance Arena.

  • Ensures that all cleaning assignments are completed during part-time housekeeping employees shift by inspecting assigned area frequently.

  • Prepares part-time employee schedules.

  • Work with the Erie Insurance Arena Director of Sports Facilities, to maintain staff labor in accordance to budget guidelines, while ensuring cleanliness of the facility.

  • Communicate effectively with all facility departments and attends planning meetings to plan effective staffing levels.

  • Enforces safety regulations with staff including proper use of PPE and proper use of chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets.

  • Enforces Erie Events company policies.

  • Conducts regular training sessions with staff on proper use of equipment, proper cleaning techniques and proper use of chemicals.

  • Perform common supervisory functions; planning, organizing, communicating and other general related functions.

  • Works independently, exercising good judgement and initiative.

  • Assist with general administrative and various other duties as necessary including progressive disciplinary reports as necessary.

  • Prepare daily cleaning assignments for all housekeeping.

  • Supervises operations staff in the absence of other assigned supervisors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Sports Facilities.
