DESCRIPTION OF WORK Food Service Workers perform routine work in the preparation of meals and sanitation of food preparation/serving areas at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Veterans Home. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other kitchen items; preparing trays, measuring portions, serving food, and transporting trays, carts, and nourishment; using equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, grinders. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Part-time employment, 40 hours every 2 weeks. Work hours are first shift: 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM with at 30-minute lunch period; first week work Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday; second week work Monday; then the schedule repeats. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Previous food service worker experience Willingness to work in Erie, Erie County Pennsylvania Willingness to work part-time Willingness to work 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM Food service experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, hospital, restaurant, or other food service operation Experience interacting with patients, residents, or customers while serving food/cleaning in patient/resident rooms or a dining room setting Work experience with food safety and sanitation in a dietary department

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
