Purpose:

The Eagles Nest program is designed to help at-risk students between the ages of 18 - 25 adapt to a workplace environment and remain a valuable asset to their employer. The students must complete four weeks of intense training before transitioning to full time employment at UPMC Hamot. This program is a temporary position through UPMC WorkSource, for a duration of 30 days. The program will include rotations through multiple areas including nursing, transport, and environmental services within UPMC Hamot. At the end of the program if a participant is chosen for a full-time position, he or she will be transferred via the internal Talent Acquisition transfer process.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks in multiple areas of the hospital including but not limited to nursing, transport, and environmental services, under the guidance of the department manager/supervisor.

  • The successful candidate will interact with other employees and provide assistance for routine task.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent program required.

  • Successful completion of the Bishop Brock orientation program.

  • The candidate will have a working knowledge of the Microsoft system.

  • The candidate must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.

  • The candidate must be able to perform routine tasks under the guidance of senior staff.
