Amentum Team Chief-TAFT in Erbil, Iraq

Purpose and Scope:

The TAFT Team Chief is the Head Instructor on the TAFT, experienced with maintenance and logistics at the leadership level, weapon, vehicle, and generator maintenance and sustainment, ammunition management, and warehouse operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control the training programs compliance with customer and company requirements.

  • Perform instructor assessments and work center visits to determine compliance with directives

  • Ensures training standards are met and upheld

  • Enforces safety standards

  • Ensures inventory of supplies and equipment

  • With the Program Manager, act as a liaison between TAFT and Trainees’ Commander, and suggests program improvements.

  • Provides augmentation to training sections as necessary and assists with Unit Leader and Unit Command Maintenance Program training.

  • The TAFT Team Chief is responsible for lesson plans, rehearsals, and is proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • The TAFT Team Chief is expected to deliver classroom and field training as needed

  • Provide guidance to deliver efficient work procedures, work schedules and workflow.

  • Supervise, coordinate, assign duties, provides leadership and reviews the work of assigned staff for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Associates degree desirable and at least 5 years of job-related experience is required.

  • Experience must include proven experience in curriculum development.

  • Completion of specialized courses in training and instruction experience is desired.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required.

  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications is required.

  • Must be able to pass a DoD National Agency Check (NAC).

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Must be willing and able to work in extreme temperatures. Capability to lift 55lbs without assistance. Must be able to meet medical and physical fitness requirements to maintain deployment in accordance with customer requirements. Exposure to industrial shops and/or maintenance bays where proper personal protective equipment must be worn. Extensive computer terminal usage. May live and work in an austere environment. Constant mental alertness required. Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
