Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver License Examiner Assistant (Summerdale) in Enola, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4525701 THE POSITION Are you looking for a rewarding career opportunity in Enola, Pennsylvania? The Department of Transportation is currently hiring Driver License Examiner Assistants to join their team. As a Driver License Examiner Assistant, you will be responsible for overseeing the application and knowledge testing procedures for Pennsylvania's driver licensing program.

The hiring office for this posting has a continuing need for Spanish speaking applicants. Individuals fluent in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.  Individuals hired for these positions provide information and assistance to Spanish-speaking customers.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this position, your main responsibility will be to directly interact with customers in order to verify their identification and complete application forms. Additionally, you will be responsible for entering this information into an online driver license application software. Another important aspect of your role will be administering standardized knowledge tests to assess applicants' understanding of the Vehicle Code, driving laws, and traffic control devices. Furthermore, you will conduct vision screenings for visual acuity using a telebinocular instrument. It will also be your responsibility to enter applicant test results and customer applications into online software systems using a PC terminal. It is crucial that you strictly adhere to the Customer Service Policy of Driver and Vehicle Services in all aspects of your work. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the correct fee waiver code is used and properly documented whenever a fee waiver is required for a customer transaction. It is important to comply with all aspects of the Fee Waiver Guidelines. Finally, you may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
