Job Description Summary

At the Enniscorthy facility, we manufacture mainly angioplasty catheters that are used in both coronary and peripheral procedures to unblock arteries. We are now recruiting a Manufacturing Technician to join the team.

In this position, you will be responsible for all the technical aspects involved in supporting operations in the assigned area.

Example of working hours:

Monday - Thursday 6:15am - 4:30pm

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Support production daily and ensure minimal downtime on the lines due to equipment/machine issues.

  • Assist in the generation/execution of test protocols and procedures.

  • Set up and operate manufacturing and/or test equipment. Record data with limited supervision.

  • Maintain accurate data and organize and present data in a reportable format.

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of BD site policies and procedures and ISO and FDA requirements.

  • Complete calibration/maintenance activities as per schedule Weekly/Monthly etc.

  • Complete actions generated from GMP audits.

  • Responsible for driving/assisting in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes and equipment to produce products that meet customer requirements and are cost effective.

  • Responsible for assisting in system assurance including documentation, testing and inspection, product and process development, and non-confirming product investigations.

  • Provide advice and feedback on corrective actions in a timely manner.

  • Work with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates.

  • Connect with engineering on equipment performance and functionality issues.

  • Help monitor productivity by tracking equipment downtime issues.

  • Assist with the installation, debug and validation of process equipment.

  • Maintain a clean/tidy and safe work area.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.

About you:

  • Level 6/7 qualifcation in a relevant field is a distinct advantage.

  • Offering support to other functions in software validation of equipment controls such as Building management systems, facility controls, process equipment controls, HR administrative systems etc.

  • Strong background managing day to day workloads and dealing with complex issues with a proven track record of root causing and implementing solutions.

  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and other utility systems.

  • Experience in maintenance technician preferably in a medical device manufacturing process.

  • High level of understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles is required.

  • Experience in performing calibration and maintenance activities and rapid prototyping.

  • Ability to problem solve/flexible and ability to deep dive and use a logical approach to fault find.

  • Proficiency in personal computer software (Microsoft Office and Excel).

  • Ability to work in a team.

  • Good communication skills (written/verbal) and ability to integrate written and verbal instructions.

  • Detail oriented with good organisational skills and daily work planning.

  • Basic knowledge of standard laboratory practices.

  • Basic math/statistics skills.

  • Ability to collect, record and report data accurately.
