Insight Global Technical Program Manager (Infrastructure) in Englewood, Colorado

Job Description

- The Technical Program Manager is responsible as the single point of contact and owner of assigned programs for coordination of installation activities across 77 MCHE/RDC and 2 NDCs.

- This role will be responsible for delivering some of the organizations most significant strategic initiatives.

- Issue work orders to instruct facility technicians on task to be performed and for project tracking.

- Track all equipment and open whatever work orders are needed to get the equipment to the install location.

- Review cable guides for completeness before gear is shipped and before local work is assigned. This must be done by someone with a technical data center background.

- Convert equipment from AC to DC or DC to AC and convert airflow direction to meet local data center requirements. This often includes technical research and meeting with vendors.

- Research and place purchase orders with vendors for missing equipment or equipment that needs to be modified.

- Assist local technicians with technical install diagrams and documentation for one off or out of standard installs.

- Perform as a subject matter expert on all fiber tapping projects. This includes working to complete cable guides and procurement of all equipment to finalize the fiber tapping.

- Technical leader managing the install engineers to implement the project from Design through Construction with comprehensive supportive documentation for project handover.

- Work with Network engineering and lead Data Center projects to ensure they are delivered to meet customer requirements.

- Work in a regulatory environment with deep understanding of Change Control, Incident Management & Problem Management processes and procedures.

- A Technical Program Manager in this organization is both a leader and a worker. You build and execute large multi-vertical programs and provide in the weeds project management tasks as necessary.

- Develops the program strategy, supporting business case and various high-level project plans.

- Ensures integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business. May also coordinate with multiple project managers to assemble overall program plan.

- Serves as a subject matter expert and mentor to project managers and project leaders to educate and assist them with implementing project management processes, making improvement/changes and achieving results.

- Accountable for the development and execution of project management processes and methodologies to ensure delivery of project scope on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding quality standards and customer expectations.

- Accountable for plans and teamwork assignments, directing work efforts, reviewing integrated project plans, escalating and communicating resource needs, ensuring completion of quality reviews, and driving the resolution of issues as appropriate.

- Collaborates with leadership and other stakeholders on program strategy, direction and changes.

- Responsible for delivering all projects contained in the project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements.

- Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to Project Managers.

- Partners with senior leadership of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

- Responsible for managing aspects of the design, development and implementation of program.

- Ability to work independently with no guidance, prioritize and organize effectively.

- Communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner

- Effectively analyze, interpret data and define key performance indicators / metrics

- Document, prepare, and deliver data-driven presentations

- Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and project members

- Expert ability to oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole

- Expert ability in implementing program and project plans and monitor progress, resource usage and quality

- Understanding and ability to manage complex program and project budgets

- Knowledge in conducting risk assessments and developing plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified

The pay range for this role varies based on depth and amount of experience from $55-$65/hour.

Skills and Requirements

- 7 years of project management

- Cable/telecom background

- Strong understanding of network infrastructure including cabling, optical technologies, data centers, server and/or network hardware

- Change control and incident management skills
