The System Vice President, System and International Mergers, Acquisitions, and Partnerships will serve as a thought leader and strategic advisor to executive leadership, identifying opportunities and leading the execution of transactions and international growth initiatives across various healthcare sectors on a system-wide and international scale. This role will lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships to support the health system's growth and portfolio transformation strategy and the growth strategy to bring an increasing number of internationally-based patients to receive virtual or direct care within our system, leveraging and building upon some currently existing programs. This role will also lead the evaluation and potential transition of all current market-level partnerships across the portfolio for potential transition to a scalable, system-level relationship to be implemented in multiple markets. This leader will conduct disciplined due diligence, financial analysis, and negotiation processes for transactions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets. This critical role requires a seasoned leader with expertise in international healthcare programs for US-based systems as well as healthcare mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, along with strong analytical skills, negotiation and implementation abilities, and a commitment to our organization's values and faith-based mission. This role will collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive growth, expand market presence, and enhance the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care internationally and across the system. The System Vice President, System and International Mergers, Acquisitions, and Partnerships must possess a high-touch service orientation toward matrixed cross-functional leaders and internal customers as well as an attention to detail and ability to drive initiatives to measurable results on-time, within budget, and meeting desired objectives. Please note this is a Remote role.

Responsibilities

● Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and thought leadership for system-level and international programs and transactions in alignment with the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and desired brand positioning. Provide strategic advice and guidance to executive leadership on transaction management and execution, including leading program development and implementation as well as due diligence and integration planning processes.

● Opportunity Identification and Development: Proactively identify and evaluate potential programmatic or merger, acquisition, and partnership opportunities on a system-wide and international basis. Conduct market analysis, competitive assessments, and feasibility studies to assess strategic fit, financial viability, and alignment with organizational goals. Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations, acquisitions, and partnerships to drive growth and enhance service offerings. Evaluate and transition of current market-level partnerships and international relationships across the portfolio for potential transition to a scalable, system-level managed relationship/program to be implemented in multiple markets.

● Due Diligence and Transaction Management: Lead the due diligence process for potential transactions, coordinating with cross-functional teams to assess financial, operational, and regulatory aspects of target organizations. Develop transaction structures, negotiate terms, and manage the execution of agreements to ensure successful completion of transactions.

● Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, healthcare providers, community organizations, and international partners. Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making and achieve mutual objectives. Manage ongoing system-level and international partnerships including governance logistics and communications.

● Financial Analysis and Modeling: Conduct financial analysis, valuation modeling, and scenario planning to evaluate the financial impact of proposed transactions. Assess risks and opportunities, develop business cases, and provide recommendations to optimize deal structure and maximize value creation.

● Integration/Implementation Planning and Execution: Collaborate with executive leadership to develop integration/implementation plans for acquired entities and/or partnership agreements. Ensure seamless transitions, alignment with organizational culture, and realization of synergies to drive operational efficiency and growth.

● Partnership Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential partners, including healthcare systems, physician groups, payers, international organizations, and other stakeholders. Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations, joint ventures, programs, and partnerships to enhance service offerings and expand market presence.

● Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transaction efforts with organizational objectives and strategic positioning. Engage with key stakeholders to advance the health system's mission and goals.

● Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of system-level and international transactions. Monitor financial performance, market share, and other relevant metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and drive continuous improvement.

● Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and legal considerations related to mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. Identify and mitigate risks associated with strategic transactions, including regulatory, financial, and reputational risks.

● Leadership and Team Transformation: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of M&A and partnership professionals. Lead the continuous improvement and potential transformation of transaction functions, optimizing culture, collaboration, processes, technologies, and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

● Culture: Foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, results-driven, and innovative organizational culture, aligning efforts with the organization's values, culture, and future direction.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field. Master's degree and/or international healthcare business experience strongly preferred.

● Proven experience (minimum 10-12 years) in healthcare mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, with a track record of success in executing complex transactions and driving growth.

Position is eligible for incentive pay based on company performance.

Pay Range

$116.99 - $163.78 /hour
