TR Leader Position Summary
As a Therapeutic Recreation Leader at Good Shepherd, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities that enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents. Engaging residents in activities that stimulate a sense of cultural, spiritual, diversional, physical, political, social, and intellectual health. Your role will involve creating and executing engaging programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity within a safe and supportive environment.
TR Leader Responsibilities
Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create activity plans that support residents therapeutic goals.
Coordinate and lead group activities, one-on-one sessions, and outings that encourage socialization and engagement.
Assess residents’ abilities and preferences to customize activity plans that cater to their individual needs.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in recreational activities.
Assess incoming residents, along with managing paperwork for residents who already reside in the building.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of activity spaces and equipment.
Essential Job Requirements
Education: High School diploma or GED
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language
Experience: Previous activities experience preferred
