Description of Job Duties

The Assistant Director of Human Resources will support the Director of Human Resources with creating a culture of high-performing leaders and colleagues in accordance with Hyatt Values and luxury service in line with Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Foundational Standard Program. This position is welcoming of all colleagues while maintaining the day-to-day administrative functions of a highly active Human Resources office.

Core Functions

  1. Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.

  2. Provide assistance and guidance to all colleagues and leaders with questions regarding benefits, policies, and Hyatt programs.

  3. Manage the full-cycle payroll process, including but not limited to:

· Prepare, process, and review payroll reports for accuracy, completeness and compliance.

· Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll changes, adjustments/historical corrections, time edits, and terminations.

· Review payroll registers to verify wages and deductions are correct for every colleague's paycheck per pay period.

· Fund Wisely paycards for all outlets with charged tips by each Friday.

  1. Oversee the Talent and Recruiting function of the department, including assisting with screening and meeting all final candidates as the last stage of the interview process, manage posting and upkeep of requisitions in the talent management system, ensure leaders submit proper new hire requests, make job offers, and send and track new hire documents.

  2. Manage and host New Hire Orientation for all new hires. Revitalize and keep presentation up to date as needed.

  3. Organize Human Resources events by reserving meeting space and coordinating materials needed. Including, Monthly Safety Meetings, New Hire Orientation, Quarterly and Annual Award Celebrations, and other engagement and recognition events throughout the year.

  4. Upload and maintain employee digital files, payroll files, and employee trackers. Ensure all documents are properly named, filed, and stored; ensure all information is complete and accurate.

  5. Oversee the Safety and Compliance function of the hotel. Work with the Security and Engineering departments to plan Meetings and Trainings, and keep Safety Committee engaged and knowledgeable in all relevant areas, including Workers Compensation. Monitor classes through My Learning and audit employee participation for required courses.

  6. Spearhead Colleague Experience Survey and work with HRD and GM to provide data helpful to improving workplace culture and efficiencies.

  7. Create and manage employee recognition programs, such as Medallia name mentions, and reward and track redemption for hotel colleagues. Manage and route monthly birthday and anniversary cards.

  8. Assist in the creation of the hotel’s Learning and Development program, including leadership trainings, Human Resources 101 series, and mentorship guides.

  9. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel, and communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.

  10. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized helpfulness to all colleagues.

  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

· 4-Year degree in relevant field or 3-5 years HR experience.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

· Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Mental and Physical Demands

· Frequent: Sitting, standing for extended periods, walking through property, working on a computer, typing, filing, climbing stairs, and interacting with colleagues (speaking, listening, and writing).

· Occasional: Lifting, pushing, and pulling property equipment up to 20 pounds.

· Occasional stooping and bending.
