Job Title: ExpeditorJob Description
The expeditor works within the purchasing department, handling all requests to bring in Purchase Orders (POs) to satisfy customer demand based on requests from Planning or Customer Service. The Expeditor will update Manufacturing and Planning on all expedited parts through established communication tools, participate in the daily Gemba walk, track international shipments for delivery, and attend value stream meetings.
Responsibilities
Expedite parts requested through the expedite email address or value stream meetings by contacting vendors via email or phone and reporting results to the requesting party or communication tool.
Update all tier communication boards in the plant on incoming parts and provide verbal updates.
Change or amend dates in the ERP system to reflect actual delivery dates, ensuring the scheduling system remains up to date.
Track international shipments through the CHR Navisphere system or other freight company status update software.
Attend value stream meetings and the weekly sync (planning session) to report on the status of purchased parts that are delaying customer orders.
Escalate any issues with parts to buyers or the Purchasing Director for assistance in bringing the product in-house.
Attend the Gemba walk and safety meetings.
Essential Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
Experience with ERP systems.
Ability to expedite materials and manage production schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Average to above average skills in all MS360 products.
Ability to walk through the plant and to the loading dock multiple times per day.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Work Environment
Working in an office space with cross-departmental functionality. Will be collaborating with the team in Allentown, PA as well. The position requires the ability to walk through the plant and to the loading dock multiple times per day and to lift up to 40 lbs.
