Role Summary

Analyzing the transportation related business needs of customers and users to help identify opportunities and propose solutions, testing and troubleshooting new and/or modified programs, tracking bugs and re-testing fixed releases prior to promoting to production as well as assisting with transportation projects or tasks specified.

Key Responsibilities

●Train and mentor transportation team members as applicable on new/modified programs

● Recommend and implement programs to improve operations

● Research and resolve user/customer reported application and/or data problems in an effective and timely manner

● Assists project leaders on each major project; provides communication from users, requestor, developers, QC and support

● Work with programmers/developers and requesting users to develop and establish project requirements, goals, and parameters

● Documents specifications required for a project before forwarding to development

● Maintain project plans with user/customer specifications, task prioritization, and resource utilization

● Respond quickly and professionally to project requests from customers and internal users

● Performs actual QC tasks on select projects in addition to working with end-users and developers

● Acquire and stay current in the knowledge of the business, retail, public warehousing, transportation, finance, and accounting systems used

● Ensure tasks and documentation are completed neatly, thoroughly, accurately and timely

● Promote exceptional Customer Service by creating an environment that promotes building and maintaining effective communication with carriers, vendors internal and external customers in order to develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs and ensure product quality and services are never compromised

● Support achievement of company business plans, strategies and objectives by coordinating the use of shared resources with other departments and locations

● Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

● Education - High School diploma or GED. Supported by college coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred

● Bachelors degree preferred Skills & Qualifications

● Knowledge of Transportation software applications and interfaces

● Ability to perform complex jobs and procedures with minimal supervision or assistance

● Ability to learn and understand business systems in the areas of responsibility, i.e. Retail, Public Warehouse Systems, Transportation, Finance, and Accounting

● Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information

● Accuracy and attention to detail

● Able to read, write, speak and understand English

● Ability to read and understand label data

● Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources

● Proficient in computer usage to include email, word processing, spreadsheets

● Knowledge of computer software and applications

● Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include overtime, nights, weekends and holidays as required

● Ability to travel (minimal) Physical Demands/Equipment

● Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

● Must be able to sit on an almost continual basis and stand, walk, bend, or squat on an occasional basis in a normal office environment

● Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit

● Ability to occasionally work in a noisy warehouse environment for short periods of time

● Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)

● Ability to physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)

● Ability to utilize equipment for the job (such as computers, cell phone, copiers, scanners, printers, etc)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $55,000.00.
