High school diploma or GED

Possession of and ability to maintain a license in plumbing, electric, and HVAC, or if no license then a minimum of five (5) years experience in maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and/or five (5) years or more experience managing buildings and grounds

Experience in managing assigned staff; interviewing and making hiring recommendations, training, making work assignments, evaluating job performance, keeping staff informed of organization developments, and providing corrective instructions

Working knowledge of maintenance practices, building/parking lots/grounds upkeep, and basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trades; apply knowledge to complete renovations/repairs on buildings and equipment with the ability to analyze and diagnose causes of mechanical and electrical malfunctions

Ability to operate a variety of hand and/or power tools and equipment

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, contractors, vendors, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities

Ability to work with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment

Ability to work on several tasks at the same time, occasionally under time pressure

Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals

Possession of a valid drivers license with demonstrated safe driving record
