*[JOB SUMMARY: *[The Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a dedicated and qualified Education Specialist to join their dynamic team. This position will be responsible for providing educational activities and instruction, documenting student educational needs/progress, supervising assigned staff, and helping students achieve academic success and personal growth.

- Valid Indiana Teachers License or ability to obtain one within six (6) months; Bachelors Degree in Education (or related field) required and at least five (5) years experience working as a licensed teacher; Masters Degree in Education (or related field) preferred
- Practical knowledge of educational theories, practices, and legal requirements with ability to provide current and relevant educational activities and instruction, implement individualized accommodations, and utilize educational software
- Ability to implement Title I resources to meet educational needs of disadvantaged students
- Complete annual education and Title I audits
- Working knowledge of and ability to apply for and administer state and federal grant programs
- Working knowledge of Juvenile IDOC and PREA standards
- Ability to manage classroom behaviors effectively
- Must be at least 21 years of age
