Job Title: CNC Turning Machinist (2nd Shift)

Job Description

We are seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists to operate various CNC turning/lathe machines in our shop using FANUC operating systems. Experience with Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL) is preferred. You will work with valuable castings and forgings, transforming them into quality parts for our customers. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 4:20 pm to 2:50 am. Must be available for overtime, including weekends and during peak production times. This position offers a hire-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications.

• Perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finishing specifications.

• Perform simple set-ups of many jobs and may operate more than one machine.

• Check parts for conformance to specifications.

• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with CNC Turning Machines

• FANUC Controls

• Lathe operation

• Ability to work with tight tolerances (+/- .0003)

• Blueprint reading ability

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent

• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times

• Basic computer skills

• Proficiency in English (reading and writing)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and experience or equivalent

• Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures

• Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are critical

Work Environment

Our well-organized facility houses over 80 machines, including Toyoda, Makino, Niigata, OKK's, and Matsura milling machinery. We have a mix of 25% vertical mills and 75% horizontal mills. The 2nd shift hours are from 4:20 pm to 2:50 am with a 10% shift differential.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
