Job Overview:

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy evaluation and treatment to Acute Care Inpatients and Outpatients.

Qualifications:

Required:

• BA/Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy

• Doctorate in Occupational Therapy a plus

Preferred:

• Minimum 1 year experience in acute care related practice

• New graduates are welcome to apply

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered by National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy Association

• NJ Occupational Therapist License

• BLS through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• 8:30-4:30pm each day

• Monday-Friday

• FT

Essential Functions:

• Conducts occupational therapy evaluations to acute care inpatients and outpatients to determine the need for treatment and assist in discharge planning

• Evaluates patient response to OT treatment interventions and makes treatment plan of adjustments accordingly

• Responsible for maintaining up to date clinical records including, progress notes, assessments and discharge summaries

• Keeps abreast of and applies current OT concepts/interventions

• Serves as a mentor in the orientation of new OT and other rehab discipline staff/students and volunteers

• Provides in-service training, education and consultation specific to occupational therapy

• Provides individual occupational therapy services in accordance with current standards of practice
