Key Responsibilities:

You will be the subject matter expert developing and delivering acquisition strategies in the management, sustainment, and future planning of Space Sensing for SSC, the warfighter, and enterprise programs (i.e., AATS, PNT, missile warning). You will also: translate technical information and apply critical thinking toward space-based sensor technology improvements and integration of networks to strengthen our space systems and enable mission success; assist acquisition planning and development of technical requirements and documents; support and advise acquisition and mission integration functions; advise the senior government leaders on program challenges and support system program reviews; oversee the activities of less senior staff and/or be responsible for all activities of all staff assigned to a specific job. Last, but certainly not least, you will ensure program office responses and audit deliverables are staffed via Directorate processes and are provided in form and content in accordance with program office, SSC, and higher Air Force, Space Force, and DoD policies.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Hybrid, Los Angeles Air Force Base and remote

  • Travel Requirements: 10% or Less Minimal Travel

  • Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week

  • Qualifications:

This position requires support to senior leadership across Space Systems Command. We are seeking a highly skilled acquisition and integration specialist, who thrives under pressure and who is passionate about space, technology, and communication and can navigate the challenges that come with them.

In addition to being highly proficient in the acquisition and Integration field, our ideal candidate is creative, organized, highly collaborative, able to influence peers, has foresight, and interacts comfortably with senior leadership across the government and private industry. An individual who can comfortably handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring the overall program is properly coordinated and efficiently accomplished with the best available resources, is also strongly desired.

Required:

  • Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI.

  • 15+ years of experience

  • MA/MS

  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Experience in database and repository tools (SharePoint, Livelink, Excel, Access and Task Management Tracker)

  • Experience with Defense Travel System (DTS)

  • Understanding/experience with DoD acquisition regulation, guidance, and activities (milestones, planning, programming, budget and execution requirements)

  • Understanding of latest SSC, Space Force, and DoD directives and initiatives

  • Understanding of the Military Decision-Making Process

Desired:

  • Experience working with various Higher Headquarters located at the Pentagon; Peterson SFB, CO; Buckley SFB, CO; and/or Los Angeles AFB, CA

  • Familiarity with Missile Warning, Tracking, and Defense

  • Familiarity with Tactical ISR capabilities/technologies

  • Familiarity with Environmental Monitoring (Electro-Optical Infrared Weather System (EWS), Weather System Follow-On Microwave (WSF-M), and Space Situational Awareness and Environment Monitoring (SSAEM)

  • PMP Certification

  • Advanced degree in Program/Project Management

  • Strong ability to translate highly technical content into thoughtful, compelling, and effective communication products in support of Space Systems Command customers

  • Strong ability to apply strategic thinking, attention to detail and situational awareness towards communication products and deliverables

  • Knowledge of space acquisition processes, Congress and other relevant government organizations that impact acquisition program offices

  • Knowledge of the PPBE process, Congress, legislation, policies, regulations and acquisition related communication documents (i.e. R-Docs, acquisitions strategies, Congressional Reporting Requirements, GAO reports, IG)

  • Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work closely with teammates and customers across internal and external organizations.

  • Strong ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans and document

  • Speak/write Air Force, Space Force and Space Acquisition terminology appropriately

  • Deep understanding of mission-critical aspects of space acquisition

  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

  • Goal-oriented, strategic thinker who is also willing to roll up their sleeves and execute tactics

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40 hours per week

Basic Compensation:

$175,000- 225,000

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
