Introduction to the team
The Outsourced Finance & Accounting group at Moss Adams helps businesses to operate more effectively, make better decisions and spend less time on accounting and financial operations. The Consultant role is instrumental to our ability to deliver on our promise. We are looking for energetic individuals who have a passion for learning and using technology to provide outsourced finance & accounting services to our dynamic client base.
Consulting Managers serve as a valued business advisor to our clients by filling a variety of client roles such as Virtual Controller, Account Manager, and Onboarding. The Consulting Manager is responsible for managing the ongoing financial reporting operations including review of periodic financial reports, KPI’s, and other management reports. The Consulting Manager provides critical oversight and account management to ensure the right policies and procedures are implemented, controls are designed to mitigate risk, and ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
Works closely with clients to support their accounting and reporting needs, providing financial information for business decisions
Becomes a trusted advisor to our clients by delivering our expertise in a timely and personal way
Manages completeness and timeliness of client deliverables
Utilizes various technologies to add value to the client experience
Assists in the creation or expansion of accounting policies and procedures
Manages cash and pays client approved A/P invoices
Interfaces with clients and coordinates with team through virtual processes and platforms
Performs overview of financial statements for inconsistencies and opportunities of increased revenue generation or cost savings
Periodically prepares and/or reviews account reconciliations
Reviews journal entries prepared by team members
Facilitates updates needed to the general ledger and other data requirements
Develops technical solutions to new or highly complex problems that cannot be solved using exiting methods or approaches
Stays abreast of business, industry, and market information that may reveal business opportunities or risks
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum of 1 year of related experience
CPA preferred. If not a CPA, must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA license upon hire in state of employment
Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook required; experience with QuickBooks Online, Intacct, NetSuite and other cloud accounting tools preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to direct, develop, and coach team members
Experience in autonomous decision making weighing the costs, benefits, risk and chances for success
