Job Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manger Tool Die Making 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Tooling organization. This leadership role is located in El Segundo, CA.

The Manager Tool Die Making 1 will be responsible for current concepts, practices and procedures utilized in the field, as well as having a strong interest in new technological applications. They will also insure tooling support to build/ maintenance for production transition and sustained efforts, which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, maintains, and improves processes/procedures to support El Segundo and remote program efforts and supports the promotion of consistent current and common tool sets & processes across the organization, program IPTs, by collaborating with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management.

  • Monitors and manages Risk items to insure mitigating actions are effective and timely and promotes Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives as well as sharing of lessons learned and best practices throughout the organization.

  • Management duties include personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development, and utilization of EVMS to manage direct costs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma/GED AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling/tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration and/or fabrication industries/experience

  • Must have 2 year of prior management/leadership experience.

  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required) as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Inventory management experience

Salary Range: $104,600 - $156,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
