Job Description

Teledyne Controls specializes in providing cutting-edge onboard avionics systems and ground-based applications to facilitate efficient data access, management, and utilization for both civil and military aircraft operators.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Avionics Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in El Segundo.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interface with multiple departments to solve test related issues.

  • Perform calibration and maintenance on avionics test systems.

  • Manage test system assets by returning defective components, ordering new equipment, and interfacing with vendors to troubleshoot issues.

  • Prepare test documentation including procedures, statements of work, change orders, and others.

  • Troubleshoot hardware/software failures on test equipment.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and day are Monday through Friday, within one hour plus/minus of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position may at times require long hours and weekends or holiday work reflecting workload and deadlines.

Travel

This position requires up to 10% domestic travel. Travel may be required when onsite validation or the support of the avionics test systems is necessary.

The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (required for test equipment and units under test that may weigh up to 25 pounds). Vision requirements include Close vision; Color vision; and Peripheral vision (required to see wire colors when troubleshooting defective test equipment).

Salary Range:

$49,830.00-$66,550.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
