Job Description

Location/Division Specific Information

You will be part of the Life Science Business Unit (LSBU) within the Material and Structure Analysis Division (MSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The LSBU provides high-value Electron Microscopy workflow solutions for biological imaging, ranging from atomic resolution imaging of protein complexes to volume acquisition of cellular structures.

Discover Impactful Work:

Lead and drive product marketing for our successful range of Falcon direct electron detectors. These products are key to customers' outcomes, and an important differentiator in the market. Coordinate product development through frequent interaction with R&D and marketing colleagues. Furthermore, develop a strong detector portfolio roadmap, built on market-focused strategy, deep understanding of product life cycles, and broad business insight.

A day in the Life:

  • Define and scope new products, their market requirements and business performance.

  • Own go-to-market strategy and outbound marketing content, in close collaboration with the marketing team to produce engaging content, strong web presence and convincing proof points.

  • Build and leverage external networks e.g. in the context of customer collaborations.

  • Drive PMP execution, relying on strong internal networks with R&D, NanoPort & field applications teams; track business performance of the existing product portfolio, as well as COGS roadmap and competitive position.

  • Provide support to sales and sales development teams, support field issues.

Education & Experience

  • A university degree in a relevant field is required, PhD/MBA or other advanced degree is desirable.

  • Keen interest in commercial, marketing and business aspects.

  • Ability to create a vision for a product, translate it into strategy and implement a customer-centric roadmap.

  • Proven track record in high-tech product management and marketing. Experience using Cryo-EM/ET and a profound understanding of its applications in Life Sciences is a strong bonus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Customer oriented, capable of building consensus among team members; strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences (in English).

  • Strong with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams; great teammate who thrives in a matrixed organization, is flexible and deals well with dynamic requirements.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Ability to travel internationally (up to 30%). Residence close to our TEM center of excellence in Eindhoven, NL would be advantageous.
