Day in the Life of Fluke EMEA Application Engineer

The Application & Technology Professional is an experienced person who supports with knowledge transfer of the Fluke Sales & Marketing activities as well as the deployment of the Fluke instrumentation at the end-user level.

One day you are in the field assisting sales representatives to deal with a challenging application at a customer and the next day you are working on developing a training course on how to use a specific Fluke instrument.

A high level of interaction with direct colleagues, many departments within Fluke as well as with end-users, is critical. When you enable colleagues to sell our products effectively and customers are engaged and skilled to use our products, it means you are successful. This specific role is also responsible for participating in- and maintaining of regulatory bodies related to the field of Test & Measurement.

Responsibilities

In this role you leverage your own field experience and are responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Acting as the expert for the Fluke “Service and Installation tools” product family, meaning Installation and Safety testers, Photovoltaic and E-Mobility testers as well as standard test instruments like Multimeters, Clamps, etc.

  • Developing and delivering content that enables both Fluke sales representatives and reseller partners to effectively promote and sell Fluke products and/or services. Utilizing GAI for online scalability is key.

  • Assist Fluke sales representatives and reseller partners with Key Account applications and/or demanding applications.

  • Create end-user (online) training classes, including the development of simulations and setups/ mockups to enable hands-on exercises and the preparation of handouts. Understanding how to get the message across online is key.

  • Conduct sales training needs assessments and analyze training needs to determine requirements for new program development.

  • Assist both Sales and Product Program Managers as the subject matter expert in your field.

  • Assist the Fluke Business Units with product development “voice of customer” activities, product development assistance, and future portfolio planning.

  • Attend, host, and lecture on relevant symposia, trade events, sales meetings, and live seminars as the Fluke subject matter expert.

  • Being a member of and participating in relevant regulatory bodies representing Fluke with regards to test and measurement application requirements.

    Your Team

The Application & Technology Team is truly international, and the 7 members are located in the Netherlands, UK, and Germany. All have an extensive background and experience in their respective fields and operate with a minimum of supervision. Although all own their projects and assigned product family responsibilities, synergy is guaranteed thanks to a high degree of interaction between team members.

Experience

The role requires you to have previous education, background, and even more important, experience in a relevant field.

As you will be the “subject matter expert” we require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or proven level thereof in an electro-technical or electronic field.

  • A number of years of demonstrated experience in the Test & Measurement field.

  • Having operated (Fluke) test & measurement instruments personally and professionally is an advantage.

  • Fluent in English and preferably another language.

  • Experience with current e-learning software tools.

    Personal Skills

  • Comfortable talking to customers and partners with varying professional levels in an international environment.

  • A high level of independence and ability to “self-educate” as in this role continuous education is a must.

  • Natural curiosity in technological advancements, innovations, and applications.

  • Willing and able to teach an audience on a topic you own.

  • Ability to explain difficult topics in a way that fits the level and needs of the other party.

  • Understanding of how to commercialize training offering

  • Confident in discussions with other parties while defending our organization’s interest in regulatory body committees.
