Day in the Life of the Customs Coordinator

The Fluke Customs Coordinator will be supporting the EMEA Customs manager in ensuring a customs-compliant operation. Therefore, will be involved in all operational disciplines related to importation, exportation, and reporting to Customs as well as participating in improvement projects. A normal day will start by monitoring the Customs system (Descartes-GCT) by filling in several KPIs. If needed, you will solve issues.

This is a temporary role for a 7-month period.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting reconciliation issues of bonded inventory between the ERP system (Oracle) and Descartes-KSD.

• Daily support to the Warehouse Office on Customs-related shipping matters.

• Daily monitoring of internal Customs KPIs.

• Execute Internal Audits related to AEO.

• Ensure staff is trained, technically competent, and well-informed regarding changes in processes.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Manage in-house Customs system (Descartes-GCT Saas solution).

  Your Team

You will be part of the EMEA Customs team consisting of 3 experienced colleagues. All team members are Dutch nationals, but this is of course not a requirement for the position. The whole team, including the manager, is sitting together in one open and modern area, so communication lines are short and informal. When you join our team, you will follow an introduction program and meet the colleagues of other departments (e.g. Warehouse, Trade Compliance, Logistics, Master Data, and Planning).

Experience

• Junior or Licensed Customs broker.

• Experience with AEO license and monitoring AEO criteria via internal audits.

• Completing GPA process and declaring to Customs.

• (Re-)export declaration processes.

• EU HS code classification.

• Working experience with MS Excel.

  Personal Skills

• Team player capable of working independently.

• Accurate and structured.

• Good social skills, capable of communicating in English.

• Critical thinking yet capable of making decisions.
