Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description
This Design Engineer will be responsible for performing various engineering duties including product design, tooling design, new product production implementation, and testing and validation.
You will be leading and managing several projects focused on developing and introducing new products while ensuring quality and reliability standards are met.
Responsibilities:
Create designs and drawings using 3D CAD software, design tooling, and create CNC programs
Plan, direct, and coordinate new product production implementation
Applying sound engineering principles while contributing to the design and development of existing and new products is a core responsibility
Perform analyses and comparisons of specifications and test results to contribute to technical and product innovation
Developing prototypes corresponding to requests and projects, staying aware of new styles, trends, and influences, and managing several projects in a fast-paced environment
Ensuring key deliverables are met
Hard Skills
Experience designing in SolidWorks
Experience in Plastics
Understanding of thermoforming/vacuum forming
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Soft Skills
Desire to be hands-on with equipment
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
Ability to stay updated with new trends and styles
Ability to communicate visually, verbally, and in writing
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
Work Environment
You will be working under the Engineering Manager, alongside a team of 4 engineers.
Typical work week is 40-45 hours.
You will be part of a company that manufactures thermoformed products that are durable, reliable, and can withstand a variety of environmental conditions due to being resistant to corrosion and chemicals. The products are made primarily for the RV industry, including shower inserts/pans, bathtubs, sink basins, mounting kits, storage tubs, skylight parts, and products for pets (food storage and feeding stations).
