The procurement Specialist’s primary purpose is to facilitate the procurement process, ensuring the timely and accurate acquisition of goods and services required for the operation of the business on a national scale.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials, or business services.

  • Evaluate the requirements of the company and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.

  • Research and source suppliers.

  • Interacts with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing terms, product specifications, monitor availability, and optimize savings.

  • Coordinates with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently.

  • Invite tenders/issue RFQ, consult with suppliers and review quotes.

  • Obtaining and comparing multiple quotes for materials and services to ensure competitive pricing.

  • Determine and negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards.

  • Maintain accurate filing of contracts and related documents.

  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build and manage supplier relationships.

  • Work closely with suppliers for ongoing process improvements and conflict resolutions.

  • Resolving purchasing problems and addressing issues in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services.

  • Oversee the analysis of data and information, including the preparation and development of reports as required.

  • Other tasks as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Strong communication skills are a must.

  • Must have strong negotiation and analytical skills.

  • Risk Management.

  • Be well organized with a high level of attention to detail.

    Education & Experience Required

  • A certificate in purchasing or project management.

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a previous procurement role.
