WSP USA Environmental Technician in Edmonton, Alberta

WSP is looking for an Environmental Technician to join our team in Alberta. This role would give you the opportunity to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. You will be involved in monitoring, analyzing, and mitigating environmental impacts to safeguard both human health and the environment.

Please note we will consider candidates based in various locations throughout Canada, but this opportunity is based at the project site in Calgary or Edmonton, AB.

  • Assisting with the implementation of various environmental field programs.

  • Site work – inspecting, monitoring, and conducting environmental field activities (water management, erosion and sediment control, dust management, noise monitoring, etc.), environmental sample collection (soil, water), and environmental emergency response (spills).

  • Technical writing – daily dust management plans, daily dust logs, daily environmental inspection logs, maintaining key environmental issues tracking log, spill reporting, etc.

  • Recording key environmental field data.

  • Occasional physical work required – assisting with ESC installation, replacing dust station batteries, moving environmental monitoring equipment, spill response.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Environmental Lead/Environmental Manager.

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize evolving requirements for multiple ongoing projects.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated technical writing and critical thinking skills.

  • Experience in the nuclear or construction/remediation-based sector considered an asset.

  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and all programs under MS Office.

  • Familiar with ISO 9001.

  • Must be eligible for Reliability status CNL security clearance.

  • Valid G drivers licence.
